What is the ICT development service?
An integrated and comprehensive service focused on
school improvement and tailored to your needs
A three year plan to amalgamate all the current ICT support services to schools is being introduced and developed in consultation with school working groups. All ICT support for schools is now provided from one team - the ICT Development Service.
The new service will be in a stronger position to meet the needs of schools including support for the increasing range of government initiates in the area of ICT and changes to funding models. There will be several new services for you to choose from for 2006/07 and we will also be offering enhancements to our existing services.
- Strategic leadership and guidance in the use and development of ICT to raise standards in schools is at the heart of the new ICT Development Service.
- The ICT helpdesk will be extended giving improved response to queries. You will be able to log your calls online and track progress of you logged calls.
- The introduction of remote support. The will enable us, with your permission, to access your servers from Warwick to enable us to visualise and diagnose faults and, where applicable, apply solutions, i.e. data fixes.
- A team of multi-skilled technicians. We are developing a training programme for our technicians so that they will be able to carry out an increased range of work on your school ICT network and associated equipment.
- We will be offering a range of buy-as-you-need services which includes the introduction of an annual training brochure with a range of ICT courses, strategic advice and consultancy, ICT procurement and deployment servers and a data recovery service.
Full details of all our services can be found on our website at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/wesservices. A summary is provided on the following pages.
