Extended Schools
Welcome to the Extended Services web site.

"Extended schools are one of the most likely bases for the delivery of services within local Every Child Matters: Change for Children programmes. Reconfiguring,
co-locating and facilitating easier access to services around the places where children and young people spend much of their time makes sense in terms of improving outcomes. Extended schools recognise that they need to work with others to improve outcomes for children and young people, their families and communities" DfES

"An extended school provides a range of services and activities, often beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community" DfES

The Government wants all schools to provide access to the core offer of services by 2010.

Warwickshire schools have an established practice of reaching out to their local communities for the benefit of all.
Warwickshire therefore welcomed the Government launch in June 2005 of its prospectus Extended Schools: Access to Opportunities and Services for All.

The Extended Services website will be constantly updated to provide information, good practice examples and countywide news.

The support and help section will assist you with practical advice and ‘know how’ information and as new materials are produced, we will ensure easy access to them via this site.
